BODY DYSMORPHIA ON HOLLOWAY DRIVE
Painting revisited - currently working on back ground structure detail.
"Body dysmorphic disorder (BDD) is a mental disorder where an individual is excessively concerned and preoccupied with an imagined or minor defect in their appearance. They may complain of several specific features or a single feature of their appearance, or a vague feature or general appearance." Wikepedia
This painting in process is centered on the morbid walk that an individual takes after being victimized. To compound the main subject of the composition, BDD is the circular vehicle that creates never ending situations for such abuse. When the body dream world of Hollywood is reduced, we find this image lurking near us all, either in us, or walking right next to us.
Dunce Cap's evolution -This is a comic appraisal of the economic lack and destitute status of America.

SCOTOMATA in middle progress. The central image is based on Native American spiritualism. This work leaps from the painting foundations developed by the Pacific North West Masters, such as Guy Anderson.
The initial composition contained no such sign post of historic interpretation, it is in the development of the work that unconscious understandings and respects unfolded onto the painted surface. A native to this area, I find in this work true absorption of the region and its Art syntax.

Dig for this image, grind for this image, destroy for the image - the structure was unbearable to execute. The process to create this work and the symbolic meaning contained is the same message: The Will to survive and the Will to conquer is stronger than the blows that seek to destroy us.

The structure of an object is based upon the perceived components. A complete understanding of structure is based on the ability to contain knowledge (as in facts) and with this organize, filter, and order the knowledge to have accurate perception. The object is not like the perceiver, the object has its own properties as does the perceiver, and the two shall never twain. However, when trying to capture some coherent function in the structure as in an image, we find things based on limits. Theses limits in capacity, time, and ability have knowledge benefits: mainly the ability to stream coherent ideas and perceptions together, the ability to narrate ideas from observation, frail as it is. This capture of an image helps to limit the analysis stream - our notion of time does this for us.
